The Level Up Greater Pittsburgh Gender Pay Equity Campaign Pledge challenges employers to use their power to close the gender wage gap, which disproportionately impacts women of color
1
Improve our region's economy
2
strengthen our region's organizations
3
Build strength for our region's families
by closing the wage gap that perpetuates the issue of poverty that black women face in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
WE MUST FIGHT BACK
Cities across the United States have made remarkable progress in closing the gender pay gap. Despite being awarded the title of “America’s Most Livable City,” Pittsburgh and the surrounding region continue to struggle with pay equity, especially when it comes to women of color. Employers in the Greater Pittsburgh region have the power to close the gender pay gap.
Responding to a 15-year stagnation in closing the gender pay gap, and the major setbacks to women’s gains in the workplace during the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Women’s Policy Center (BWPC), Women and Girls Foundation (WGF), and YWCA Greater Pittsburgh (YWCA GP) have created a regional partnership to advocate for structural change to close that gap.

TAKE THE PLEDGE
By signing this pledge, you're committing to fighting for equal pay for all women. We need to take action to close the gender pay gap. We need to ensure that all women are paid fairly for their work. This is important for all women, but it is especially important for women of color (Learn why here).

EQUAL PAY DAYS
Equal Pay Days are important in raising awareness about the gender pay gap and celebrating the progress that has been made in closing the gap. However, there is still much work to be done. Together, we can create a world where all women are paid fairly for their work.
